Linking Our Way to Hell

Reading the links with this post should give you a clue to the direction our Country is headed.

"It is a quite special secret pleasure
how the people around us fail to realize
what is really happening to them"
-- Adolph Hitler

It's hard to focus on one thing I want to write about this morning. Everything is moving at breakneck speed so it's hard to focus on one subject. Everyone has commented on the changes being made by the Obama Administration at such a fast pace that it is dizzying.

The Stimulus Bill was passed, unread by anyone except the group that wrote it, at hyper speed and it laid the ground work for such an array of change that it hard to know where to start. Dose any one truly believe that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid or anyone from Congress wrote this pièce de résistance. The budget was passed almost as fast.

Do I start with Health care and the fact that the ground work for online medical records and health care rationing was laid in the Stimulus bill...
The Democratic politicians pushing this bill have far-reaching ambitions. The legislation (PDF) (on page 244, for the curious) hands to a still-to-be-named health care bureaucrat the "goal of utilization of an electronic health record for each person in the United States by 2014." Selecting official standards will be left to the Department of Health and Human Services (page 265).
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-10161233-38.html

From Betsy McCaughey writing for Bloomberg:
The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.
But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what [Tom] Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.
or Energy and the fact that energy monitoring and rationing was laid in the Stimulus bill...
Smart meter From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Example of a smart meter in use in Europe. The meter has the ability to reduce load, disconnect-reconnect remotely, and interface to gas & water meters.

A smart meter generally refers to a type of advanced meter (usually an electrical meter) that identifies consumption in more detail than a conventional meter; and optionally, but generally, communicates that information via some network back to the local utility for monitoring and billing purposes (telemetering).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_meter
or the Economy and the fact that the groundwork for higher taxes was laid in the Stimulus bill...
From an Article by Newt Gingrich in Time Magazine:
If the country's No. 1 priority is to create jobs, then a hidden $1,300-per-family energy-tax increase in the guise of a cap-and-trade system is absolutely destructive. Herbert Hoover raised taxes in 1932, and it further crippled the economy. The war-on-wealth rhetoric (Obama talks about punishing companies that send jobs overseas; Vice President Joe Biden said he wanted to throw CEOs "in the brig"; Senator Claire McCaskill referred to CEOs as "idiots") and policies of this Administration and the Democratic Congress are making it difficult to stabilize the stock market and much harder to get successful people to invest in American jobs.
If we want to keep money in the U.S., then sending it overseas for oil and gas is counterproductive. Yet the Obama budget includes a 13% excise tax on offshore oil and gas production in the Gulf of Mexico, threatening the domestic oil and gas industry at a time when we should be encouraging it to return resources home to America.
http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1884571,00.html
These are just two of the hidden taxes in the Stimulus bill.
Do I mention that Obama's Economic Advisory Committee is going to reap Billions if all his policies are adopted?
The board will remain in tact for at least two years.

Members of the board to be announced: Austan Goolsbee as staff director and chief economist; William H. Donaldson, SEC Chair, 2003-05; Roger W. Ferguson, Jr., president and CEO, TIAA-CREF; Robert Wolf, chairman and CEO, UBS; David F. Swensen, CIO, Yale University; Mark T. Gallogly, founder and managing partner, Centerbridge Partners L.P.; Penny Pritzker, chairwoman, Pritzker Realty Group; Jeffrey R. Immelt, CEO, GE (parent company of NBC News); John Doerr, partner at Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers; Jim Owens, chairman and CEO, Caterpillar Inc.; Monica C. Lozano, publisher & chief executive officer, La Opinion; Charles E. Phillips, Jr., president, Oracle; Anna Burger, chairwoman, Change to Win; Richard L. Trumka, secretary-treasurer, AFL-CIO; Laura D'Andrea Tyson, dean, Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley; Martin Feldstein, professor of Economics, Harvard.

From the Washington Times:
President Obama's newly named Economic Recovery Advisory Board, the real-world Americans being asked to help solve the nation's financial crisis, includes a union executive who took the Fifth in a federal probe, a billionaire whose failed bank pioneered the subprime mortgage market, and deep-pocket donors who gave or gathered nearly $1.2 million for the president's campaign.
In all, 11 of the 16 board members donated or raised money for Democrats in the last election, according to a Washington Times review of campaign finance records. They include the president and chief operating officer of the American arm of UBS Investment Bank, the Swiss-based bank now at the center of a widening tax evasion probe by the Justice Department and the Internal Revenue Service.
Do I comment on his Treasury Secretary, Tim Geithner's, appetite for power or the White Houses' desire for control for that matter?
The Obama administration is considering asking Congress to give the Treasury secretary unprecedented powers to initiate the seizure of non-bank financial companies, such as large insurers, investment firms and hedge funds, whose collapse would damage the broader economy, according to an administration document.
The government at present has the authority to seize only banks.
Is the Census power grab a topic? Is it the attack on Rush Limbaugh or the AIG executives being attacked not only on Capital Hill but in their own driveways? Is ACORN really a threat to fair elections and AIG Executives? Is it Obama's hatred of American Capitalism? Should I ask why I believe Barney Franks and Chris Dodd are responsible for Freddie and Fannie? Do I comment on the end of the War on Terror? Is it this mornings' firing of General Motors CEO? Is it the Administration's meddling in every aspect of our lives? Is it the lies and misdirection of this President, promising one thing but delivering something entirely different?

Eureka! That is the issue...er....those are the issues. All of the above.

Class Envy = No Class

I have been taking in all the images and news stories about AIG executives living in lush homes with tennis courts and swimming pools. I've seen the faces of the men and women who are protesting and I've listened to their complaints and I am ashamed of the American's who are using class envy for political reasons and drumming up anger in the midst of this terrible financial crisis. The organizations ACORN and Connecticut Working Families are well funded by our own tax money and Union largess. These "protests" are not spontaneous events but well planned theater to make a political point.

The protests are happening in major cities and at AIG executives homes. This video downloaded from YouTube is by a young man calling himself Kairosan.

His profile lists his occupation as a clerical worker and a video director. This is a quote from one of his other videos "working for a company is like being a pet". It sums up the philosophy of this young man and, interestingly enough, of Barak and Michelle Obama. She has stated, while talking to students during the Presidential campaign “We left corporate America, which is a lot of what we are asking young people to do. Don’t go into corporate America."

Kansas City has a beautiful section of the city called Ward Parkway. I can remember as a young married woman , going with my husband to a job site in this well to do neighborhood. I was amazed by the beauty of the well manicured, gated laws and the beautiful homes. I never thought "why do they live here and I don't." If anything it motivated me to work hard and attain my portion of the American Dream. I never dreamed of or sought to live in one of those mansions. I just appreciated their beauty.

When my husband and I bought our first home, it was a four-room "Mansion". We both worked hard and our second home was a five bedroom Cape Cod in a modest neighborhood of Kansas City. Due to a recession while trying to start a business in the 1980's we lost that house. We never blamed anyone but ourselves. We now own a four-room "mansion", again. It's the perfect size for a pair of retired folks who still have to work to make ends meet. We have had a good life but we've had to work hard to achieve our American Dream.

I live in a neighborhood that must be similar to the areas some of the Bus Tour protesters live in. Our neighbors are hardworking people of all different ancestral backgrounds. All colors, black, brown, yellow and white. It is an interesting place to live. It is part of the grand idea that makes this America. How sad the protesters are made to feel "less than" and taught by their trainers to hate the American Dream. The next video is from CNN:

That brings us to this cartoon from Current TV that must sum up the true feelings of the "folks" living in the White House and the President's cabinet. It's a political cartoon, a joke really but it may have some valid points.

Sad to say, this is what we, as Americans, have come to. Our President, Our Leaders and Institutions are a joke. People can be whipped up at a moments notice to protest some rich guy because has more than they do. There is class envy every where you look. Even in my American Dream.

This actually happened to me at on a recent visit to Target. There was a middle aged women with a teenage boy ahead of me. She was dressed really nice and she and the young man had leather coats on. I looked at my fleece jacket and for a moment I had a flash of envy. It didn't stop there. They both had multiple gold chains around their necks and she was talking on a an iPhone and the young man appeared to be playing a game on his Blackberry.

I couldn't help but notice she paid for several hundred dollars of merchandise with a credit card. Then she paid for her food items with a WIC voucher that took extra time for the cashier to mark off items, one at a time, and a Vision Card. That's food stamps to you and me.

I had another moment of "class envy" when I went to my 1995 Ford Explorer to leave and as luck would have it, they were parked next to me. But you know what, other than remembering the incident, I didn't attack the pair as they were loading their bags into their New Escalade (the sticker was still on the window). I didn't accidentally smash my door into the side of their ride. I didn't go picket their house. I really don't know anything about their lives other then my observations while I was shopping.

This seems to be the state of the poor in this country. Most of the underprivileged kids at the community center near me have electronic gadgets and cell phones. They are dressed decently and seem oblivious to the "fact" that they're poor. Kind of like me when I grew up. I lived in the four-room house that was the same house my husband and I bought early in our marriage. We've been rich in love and spirit and not in material things.

Too bad ACORN, the Unions and Foundations that provide services for the poor don't train their protesters to work hard and appreciate what they have instead of lusting after other peoples good fortune.

In what may be good news in an otherwise dismal news day, the Hill has just reported that Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) announced Tuesday he will oppose card check, giving an apparent death blow to the most important congressional issue to organized labor. The secret ballot may be safe. Stay tuned...

Bad News for the American Taxpayer but Not for Investors!

I have been sitting here reading about Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner's, "plan" to rescue the Banks and Investment Firms and I am seeing a frightening scenario for our economic future unfolding. When you read between the lines, virtually every action the new Administration has taken on the economy appear to be a larger plan to reward certain investors, mainly Democratic supporters, at the expense of the already battered American taxpayer and to make a huge power grab against Capitalization. His economic panel members, once again, stand to make billions on the back of you and me!

The boy wonder's plan, is a virtual freebie to investors at the cost of an estimated one Trillion dollars to the American Taxpayer. No wonder Wall Street celebrated on Monday with an almost 500 point up-tick. We, the American Taxpayers, are gifting the investors with their seed money. The investors cannot loose this money even if the venture goes south, and the taxpayer would be left holding the bag. The Investors get to set a values for those pesky toxic assets and if they guess wrong the Government [taxpayer] could loose many times the initial investment.
In an article from Tom Raum on MyWay.com:
Under a typical transaction, for every $100 in soured mortgages being purchased from banks, the private sector would put up $7 and that would be matched by $7 from the government. The remaining $86 would be covered by a government loan.
and...

A joint statement by the Federal Reserve and Treasury Department said the Fed should play a "central role" in preventing future financial crises. That implied a wish that Congress expand the Fed's authority in regulating all financial institutions, not just banks.

Geithner said taxpayers still could lose money on the deal to soak up bad assets but there was no fixing the system without risk.

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20090323/D97420DG0.html

More Bad News for the American People but not Investors! The President's calling for expanded Federal power to seize not just banks but investment firms and large insurers.

A flash headline on the Drudge Report:

In a Washington Post article this morning Binyamin Appelbaum and David Cho write:
The Obama administration is considering asking Congress to give the Treasury secretary unprecedented powers to initiate the seizure of non-bank financial companies, such as large insurers, investment firms and hedge funds, whose collapse would damage the broader economy, according to an administration document.

The government at present has the authority to seize only banks.

Giving the Treasury secretary authority over a broader range of companies would mark a significant shift from the existing model of financial regulation, which relies on independent agencies that are shielded from the political process. The Treasury secretary, a member of the president's Cabinet, would exercise the new powers in consultation with the White House, the Federal Reserve and other regulators, according to the document.

This is a very dangerous precedent and would make the relationship between The Federal Government and the Federal Reserve, a private enterprise, even more clouded. This is too much power in too few hands. With the AIG fiasco still fomenting in Congress, "Boy Wonder" Geithner testified to Congress this morning that he knew about the bonuses to AIG executives and tried to stop them. I thought he said he didn't know about them? Then he did know about then, then he didn't. I'm confused. I don't think the Frat boys running the Government know what they think they know.

ACORN on Busses, Obama on Leno, Canvassers Seeking Pledges!

Where Do I Begin...

This has been a busy news weekend, but maybe not a news worthy one. What with the ACORN members and the Connecticut Working Families Party (Alinsky Union Members) taking bus tours to harass the AIG executives in their homes. Then there's President Obama on Jay Leno's Tonight Show making comments in a joke about his bowling prowess and comparing it to Special Olympics. That leaves The Pledge Canvass Project where volunteers go door to door or go to a public place and ask you to pledge support to President Obama's ravenous spending and taxing plans. The pledge started even before Obama was elected. Celebrities fell over one and other to Pledge service to Obama.

Remember these guys!

Wow, that's a lot to take-in in one weekend. There is usually only one leak for the Press to chew on in any given week. Of course the Drive By Media doesn't chew on anything about Obama. They barely gum it.

The ACORN Bus Tour is barely being mentioned in the mainstream Press. There have been organized marches in 32 cities staged by ACORN and the Service Employees International Union. It is no coincidence that ACORN and SEIU are involved in these "spontaneous demonstrations". They are well attended and well funded events filled with slick slogans and flashy signs. Look at some of the sponsors expressing "outrage" and you begin to see a dangerous pattern. The National Sponsors read like a who's who of leftest activists, most funded by Unions and left leaning Foundations:

The outrage is drummed up. It is a needed distraction so people don't see and can't understand Obama's true intentions. The whole agenda that Obama is pushing looks more like the rise of Stalin in Russia during the Bolsheviks Revolution than we should feel comfortable with.

He is using his "Cult of Personality" to mask what he is really trying to achieve, his idea of a Utopian Society where every one is given, work, home and health care by the government. A gray Society where entrepreneurship has been destroyed. Business is a demon to be exorcised. CEO's and Business leaders are things of disgust and should be shunned and their(AIG) families threatened and harassed in their own homes. The Daily KOS has posted a Reward for outing the executives. Is this really America?

The President is a man who himself is flawed or just plain gauche. He makes dumb statements like the Special Olympics gaff on Leno or his now famous St Patrick's Day teleprompter gaffe where he thanked himself for coming to the Party. He is lost without his teleprompter. He's been to 57 states. He told us the in 2007, 10,000 people died when a tornado hit Greensburg, KS, and the list goes on.

That leaves the The Pledge Canvass Project which is a very scary thing. The main thing this Project is trying to acheive is get as many signatures as they can to try and convince the General Public that everyone is in favor of Obama's Agenda. The trouble is the pledge doesn't tell you what his Energy, Health Care or Education policies are and what they are going to do to this Country.

The Cap and Trade provisions being worked on in congress as we speak are a Ponzi scheme. Tax industries that produce too many Green House gases and sell their sins to companies who can afford to pay for sinning more.

SmartGrid 2.0
and SmartMeters that will monitor energy usage in your homes and your utility will tax you for overages for using too much energy for the size of your house. Higher taxes on every form of current energy including a $1.50 a gallon gasoline tax the the President wants to have ready for implementation next January. Higher taxes on natural gas, coal and coal fired power plants. Taxes on top of taxes and it just keeps on building. This will be a disaster for what's left of our economy.

I have seen the future and it's being taxed.

Friday, March 20, 2009

This needs to go viral....immediately

OK, among the many things I don't know about Obama's agenda is this one.

The Pledge Project Canvass

Tomorrow, March 21st canvassers are to be going door to door to have Americans sign a pledge to support Obama's policies on Energy, Health Care and Education.

AND THERE ARE LOCAL GROUPS IN KC THAT WILL BE DOING THIS!!

The last thing this country needs is for some fascist, power hungry, megalomaniac to ask us to sign any kind of pledge. I am totally fed up with this. If Obama gets his way on Energy no one who is not rich will be able to afford any kind of energy.

He is proposing new taxes on oil, natural gas and Propane. New taxes on Coal that run most of the electric utilities in this country are going to cause the price of a kilowatt hour and basic energy to skyrocket. A new Gasoline Tax of at least $1.50 a gallon.

Natural Gas which costs are already outrageous could more than double. These costs aren't going to hit the rich in any measurable way but what's left of the middle class and the poor are going to be devastated in an already shaky economy. This is specifically designed to keep the lower classes broke and dependent on the Government. This threat is real! Once again the American taxpayers will get soaked with debt. If the Government can drive up the cost of our current energy supplies then it will make the Green Technologies more attractive.

T. Boone Pickens
, one of Obama's Economic Advisers, who has his face is plastered all over TV in support of Green Technologies is heavily invested in wind and solar energy and stands to make billions in grants and subsidies.

T. Boone says he has a plan. He sure does and he's heavily invested in it. He is buying land and wind turbines at an alarming rate but it may be for more than Green Energy. He wants to buy up water rights. That's the next big thing, water shortages.

The same with Jeff Immelt of G.E. and Jim Owens of Catapillar. Virtually all of Obama's Economic Advisers will make billions on these schemes and not only from direct profit but from Government subsidies. That means the taxpayers pay.

Shell oil has pulled out of the Green industry because it's studies have determined there is no profit in it. If there aren't high enough profits for the companies developing these technologies to make money then where do the profits come from? Government Grants and subsidies.

Obama is getting ready to pull some shenanigans in Congress with a procedure called the budget reconciliation process in which he only needs fifty votes to pass legislation instead of the 60 vote the Democrats made the Republicans adhere to for the last two years.

Please tell the brainwashed idiots that will be asking you to sign a pledge to WAKE UP! This is an evil attempt to separate and identify his supporters and detractors. Won't be long before the Green Shirts come to reeducate us.

Heritage Confirms My Take on Muzzleing Talk Radio

This morning on the Heritage Foundation's Morning Bell report is an article about about the Durbin Doctrine. It is the Fairness Doctrine revisited and loosely disguised in other legislation.

http://blog.heritage.org/2009/03/16/morning-bell-the-durbin-doctrine-assault-on-free-speech/

I wrote about this on February 27th in an article entitled, "Obama's Hidden Agenda".

http://beforemy1stcupajoe.blogspot.com/2009/02/obamas-hidden-agenda.html

In that article I wrote:

[Congress is] Doing Obama's dirty work, He is never connected to any legislation. The true meaning of his intent is hidden in otherwise obscure legislation. There is a real agenda. Controversial legislation hidden in more palatable bills. Something Obama can sign with cover because the main legislation is so vital it must be signed immediately.

The Stimulus Bill was passed so fast that there was no time for Congress to read it. There is so much hidden in that bill that it will take years to decipher the bills true scope. Now he is turning to a long Democratic wish list.

The Senate bill, S 160, is legislation dealing with representation for the District of Columbia. It is the loss leader for the Fairness Doctrine, a bill to limit the voices of opposition. Sen. Jim DeMint proposed the cover amendment, insuring that the Fairness Doctrine will not be revisited. The amendment was passed by a vote of 88 to 11. Approved by all Democrats (aren't they fair) Now the pundits such as Rush Limbaugh or Michael Savage haven't got anything to complain about.

80. S.AMDT.573 to S.160 To prevent the Federal Communications Commission from repromulgating the fairness doctrine.
Sponsor: Sen DeMint, Jim [SC] (introduced 2/25/2009) Cosponsors (9)
Latest Major Action: 2/26/2009 Senate amendment agreed to. Status: Amendment SA 573 agreed to in Senate by Yea-Nay Vote. 87 - 11. Record Vote Number: 71.

But wait...another amendment had to be offered to S 160 and moments later the language was skewed to better suit the Democrats with amendment S AMDT 591.

86. S.AMDT.591 to S.160 To encourage and promote diversity in communication media ownership, and to ensure that the public airwaves are used in the public interest.
Sponsor: Sen Durbin, Richard [IL] (introduced 2/26/2009) Cosponsors (None)
Latest Major Action: 2/26/2009 Senate amendment agreed to. Status: Amendment SA 591 agreed to in Senate by Yea-Nay Vote. 57 - 41. Record Vote Number: 70.

The same legislation can both end the fairness doctrine and reinstate it in the very same instance, only now it isn't called the Fairness Doctrine. That has been defeated by the first amendment S AMDT 573 and reborn as S AMDT 591 an amendment to the same bill and now referred to as the "diversity in communications media ownership" clause.

It is nice to be ahead of the curve sometimes and to have what you believe be confirmed by such a highly regarded entity as the Heritage Foundation. Not a bad start for a Monday!

Friday Morning Reading...

The President speaks out of the other side of his mouth.

After weeks of telling us how bad the economy is, we have this new gem after three days of a Bear Market rally or maybe that's a "Barely" Market rally. President Barack Obama on Thursday, declared the national crisis is "not as bad as we think" and his plans will speed recovery.

1st Amendment Under Attack by Left

Free speech is under attack from the left as never before. Yesterday, at the University of Massachusetts, Don Feder, a former Boston Herald writer, was shouted down and generally harassed by protesting leftest students who made hateful comments about him and his daughter. How ironic the speech Feder was about to give was on the subject of hate speech. He had been invited, and the event was paid for, by the campus Republican Club. He spoke for less than five minutes before his voice was silenced by the protesters who were interspersed in the crowd. They carried signs but that didn't seem to be enough for them. they turned their chairs around so their backs were to the speaker and even that wasn't enough. They shouted him down and all patted themselves on the back at his exit. How sad for our society to loose one of our most basic rights. The right to disagree. The left was putting their 1st Amendment rights to use but it wasn't allowed for Mr. Feder. because he had a different view.

ACORN is on the March! again...

Looks like the re-education of America is starting with a grassroots effort by ACORN to "change" legislators minds through re-education...er..forums. No problem, they are on the receiving end of more than 200 million dollars from the Porkulus bill that was just rammed through congress. Just a quick shot from their website.

Love the legislative members who are going to be re-educated.

...and then there is ACORN involvement in the housing crisis. They are truly begging for TARP fund to "help" foreclosed homeowners squat. Homeowners of color and low-income homeowners are being targeted to stay in homes they couldn't afford in the first place. Among their wish list for "reform" are:
  • Require principal write-downs, in other words, if you bought a $500,000 house you only have to pay back $300,000 or some arbitrary dollar amount to be determined by the courts.
  • Convene a summit with Treasury, HUD, regulators to establish new industry standards. "Oh yeah, I want ACORN writing my government regulations".
  • Authorize $25 billion of the TARP funds to insure against re-defaults.
  • Eliminate 90-day delinquency and bankruptcy requirements for Fannie, Freddie assistance.
  • Improve assistance by fixing affordable interest rates, reducing principal. "Sure, not only can judges reduce your mortgage but so can some other government entity".
and the list goes on and on in the pamphlet put out by ACORN entitled: Housing for America, a Roadmap Out of the Crisis. Interesting reading and frightening. Union manipulation, housing fraud and voter fraud are the stock-in-trade of this "community activist" association.

What's the Plan Mr. President?

We have a President who is not only content with seeing the economy go bankrupt but is intent on making it happen! The reason: to further his vision of a new socialized model of American governance and set up the political system for Democratic dominance for decades. It's all about "fairness", but to who? Certainly not the people who have kept this country at the top of the financial world until this economic crisis. Certainly not the not the people who wanted to leave their children and grandchildren a better country. Certainly not to the 92% of the people who pay their mortgages on time. Certainly not to the great men and women who gave their lives and faithful service to the country they and past generations have loved for the last 234 years. Certainly not to the Patriots of the original Revolution who devised the greatest living document on earth, Our Constitution.

Our freedoms are being tested as never before. The new Administration seems to be hell bent on making us into a third world country as fast as possible. Obama is not worried about the stock market "gyrations" as evidenced in his comments in a joint appearance with Prime Minister Gordon Brown of Great Britain on March 3rd.

President Obama said Tuesday that he is not intently focused on the “day-to-day gyrations of the stock market,” comparing the downward roller-coaster on Wall Street to the fickle nature of political polls.

“You know, it bobs up and down day to day,” Mr. Obama said. “And if you spend all your time worrying about that, then you’re probably going to get the long-term strategy wrong.”

Sounds reasonable. But what are Mr.Obama's long term goals for the economy? The Free Markets are drying up and investors are turning to Treasury Bonds for shelter. This fits very well into the emerging scenario of socializing every thing in sight. The more investors put their money into Treasury Bonds the more money the government has. Sounds intriguing. But stop and think about this for a moment. The more the economy slops at the government trough, the less freedom we possess. We are caught in an economic whirlpool, being pulled down by centripetal forces beyond the control of the financial markets, even Governments and Obama is giving us brainless approval to this phenomenon.

Old alliances are being threatened. The Prime Minister of Great Britain, Gordon Brown found out just how far this Administration would go to disrespect an unfavored head of state on his first visit with Obama on March 3rd 2009. Brown had set himself and Obama up as global arbiters by stating the he and Obama would discuss economic policy leading to "a new global order".

The result for trying to upstage Obama by jumping the gun on the announcement of their agenda was: No state dinner. No family face-to-face. No British Press and very few Washington Press corps in a hastily arranged photo opp in the Oval Office.
White House aids offered dueling excuses as to the shortened visit i.e. the raging snow storm outside or problems with the President's schedule. Take your pick. The Prime Minister was left red faced at the alter.

And then there's the matter of the Winston Churchill's statue. The statue of Sir Winston Churchill was loaned to President Bush after 911 and displayed in the Oval Office. Obama sent it packing. To say Great Britain was upset by this is an understatement. Maybe his apparent dislike of Churchill involved their diametrically opposed views on policy and taxation. Among Churchill's most famous quotes are the following:

  • There is no such thing as a good tax.
  • Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.
  • The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.
  • We contend that for a nation to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.
  • An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile—hoping it will eat him last.
Maybe there are other reasons for payback. There are always reasons. Obama has a reputation of getting even with people who have slighted him or his family personally. During Churchill's second second term as Prime Minister of Great Britain (1951-1955), The British put down Kenya's Mau Mau rebellion. Among the Kenyans allegedly tortured by the colonial troops was Hussein Onyango Obama, the President's grandfather.

New alliances that benefit Terrorist! Why in God's name are we giving Hamas millions for refugees? Many of Obama's Change issues are being done by executive order because the administration can do these under the radar.

The American people demand to know what your true intentions are Mr. President?

All we know for sure is this is not the change America wanted. We don't want Socialism! We don"t want Bailouts! We don't want Cap and Trade! We don't want higher utility bills! We don"t want to be preached to by someone who is not leading by example! We don't want to cozy up to Terrorist! We want our country back!

Why should we respect you when you tell us to live more frugally and when you serve WAGU steak that cost more than a hundred dollars a pound at the White House? Why should we tighten our belts when you are spending like there's no tomorrow?

Why do you want to give us higher gas taxes, higher oil taxes, higher natural gas taxes, and higher cost to heat our homes with coal? I don't know about anyone else but heating and cooling my house now cost more than my house payment. You say 95 % of people are getting a tax break. Well let me tell you Mr. Obama, $13 friggin dollars a week won't pay my energy bills.

Why do you want to destroy America's Businesses and Corporations and Banks and Financial Institutions, the Stock Market, and every other vestige of wealth in this this country?

I know I'm crying in the wilderness here but I will keep posting to my blog. I Want To Know! This President is taking our country to places we never wanted to go.

Welcome to Hell.

Another Saturday. Another Tea Party. This one directed at Obama surrogate Sen. Claire McCaskill.

Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009

I overslept so Joe and I had to hurry up and get ready for the Porkulus Rally...er Tea Party at Claire McCaskill's office. I checked my e-mail and had a short note from Amanda Grosserode, who is coalescing as the Tea Party's main organizer in the Kansas City area even though she is from Lenexa, KS. She said no one had called off the event even though there was four inches of snow on the ground and it was still snowing.

We finally got on the road around 9:30 a.m. and it was a little worse than we expected. Joe and I decided our anger was greater than our fear of the inclement weather so we pressed on. The plan was to meet at the Nichols Fountain, at 47th & J.C. Nichols Parkway, in Kansas City, MO, at 10:00 and march to McCaskill's office about a mile from the fountain.

The going was slow on the road but we made it to Nichols Fountain about 30 minutes late. The loose knit group of a few hundred fired up people were still at the fountain, signs waving. Passing cars were honking their approval and it was snowing like crazy. Joe parked the car and by the time we got our signs and walked toward the fountain, the group was already starting their march up J.C. Nichols Parkway.

We sloshed our way across the Parkway but the group of men, women and children were already marching up the hill toward 42nd Street. Joe and I tried to catch up but it was no use. I couldn't walk fast enough and the grade up the hill was proving to be too much for this 62 year old body. Joe decided to go back and get the car and we drove up the Parkway where we finally caught up with the Protesters at 42nd Street.

I was snapping pictures of the group as they crossed the Parkway at 42nd Street, and I noticed one sign in particular being carried by a woman who was surrounded by a group of kids. The sign was on a black board and it had "Freedom Lovers" with the Revolutionary symbol of the severed snake to represent the original 9 colonies at the beginning of the founding of our country. I couldn't help thinking about General George Washington and his troops crossing the icy Delaware River during the Revolutionary War on December 25th in 1776 or Glenn Beck's Nine Principles from his We Surround You campaign.

I'm in no way comparing the Tea Party participants to our founding fathers but we are Patriots. We love our country and we support each other and our efforts to fight against the socialization of our nation at the expense of our future.

One year ago this country was flourishing, with problems, yes but not even close to what distress it's in today. I don't believe
that this crisis occurred because the taxpayers didn't do what was right or responsible. Greed from unseen entities seems to be where this crisis is pointing. My belief is that people with a lot more money than's been spent in this bailout started this thing to elect a President but it got out of hand. Power brokers who have no allegiance to any country...but I digress, marchers were still going up the hill.

As we turned the corner onto Pennsylvania the line of Protesters stretched from J.C Nichols Parkway, up the hill on 42nd and all the way down to Claire McCaskills office. We parked our car about a half a block away and entered the fray. The group had several cheerleaders shouting slogans like 'No More Pork" and "No to Socialism". The group was made up of people who were young and old and middle aged and kids most carrying signs with their particular message on them.

The crowd was noisy, angry but polite. As we winded our way through the crowd we stopped and talked to people in small groups, Many were small business owners who said they didn't see anything in the President's plan to make them hopeful for the future. One businesswoman said she employed 15 workers and from what she could tell, if the plans are implemented in the way the Stimulus bill is being interpreted, she may have to lay off 10 of her workers. People around her agreed that "the Stimulus Bill is not stimulating any thing but a bigger government. None of us were hopeful that growing the government was going to lead to anything other than less freedom and higher taxes.

There were Fair Tax people there and workers against FOCA the "Freedom of Choice Act" (the bill that would take away the secret ballot for Union workers) Stimulus Bill Protesters, Mortgage Bailout Protesters, Free Speech advocates, etc. I guess what I'm trying to say is there were a lot of Patriotic Americans who were using their First Amendment Rights which includes prohibiting the United States Congress from making laws that infringe the freedom of speech, infringe the freedom of the press, limit the right to peaceably assemble, or limit the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

It is also the Amendment that guarantees one of our most important freedoms, the "Freedom of Religion", and it begins the Bill of Rights.

The crowd braved the elements for more than two hours before they started to disperse. Amanda had arranged for a few of us to meet after the Protest at Power Play in Shawnee, KS for lunch and discussion about where we go from here. It was a small group. Nine of us ate and talked briefly. A Gentleman named Mike said there was going to be a protest in Olathe next weekend. We agreed we must keep this movement alive.

Obama say he realizes that there are people who disagree with his policies. In his weekly radio address on Saturday, President Barack Obama predicted fierce opposition from the various industries in insurance, oil and gas companies, student lenders and banks, saying: "I know they're gearing up for a fight as we speak. My message to them is this: So am I." He forgot about the people expressing themselves in these Tea Parties. Our message to President Obama is "Your ready to fight...well so are WE"!
